The platform
From Monday’s briefing to the minister’s office
Seam finds what in government affects you, then helps you act on it: the response, the letter, the meeting and the follow-up. Get started in minutes. You approve every word before anything goes out.
01 · Monitoring
Monitoring
Briefed £99 / month
Free on the Track plan: your top three items each week.
The grants, contracts and rules that affect you, every Monday. Seam works out what to look for from your website, so there are no keywords to set up. Each month it reads the site again and asks before adding anything new.
- Where you work By email every Monday at 7am, or the day and time you choose. Deadlines can go in your calendar. Briefed also posts to Slack and Microsoft Teams.
- Fewer emails, if you like Monday’s email ends with your To do list for the week. Choose which other emails come as they happen and which wait for that list.
- Explained as you go Each item says in one line what kind of record it is and what usually happens next. A bill going through Parliament shows which stage it has reached.
- Contracts before the tender Public buyers publish the tenders they plan up to 18 months ahead. The ones that fit you appear in your briefing and on your Home screen.
- Track an opportunity Press Track this on a tender, grant or consultation. It goes on your To do list and your calendar, we remind you a week and two days before it closes, and we tell you if the closing date moves or a newer notice appears.
- When government will respond For each consultation you answered, are drafting, track or saw in your briefing, Monday’s email and your Home screen say how likely the government’s response is by a given month, such as “about a 1 in 4 chance by late January”, and how many of the department’s past consultations that rests on. Where our past forecasts of that size were not reliable, we say the timing is uncertain. How good are these forecasts?
- On the big days After a Budget, Spending Review, King’s Speech or the Industrial Strategy, we send a same-day note on what changed for your company, what did not and what to do. We check it word for word against the documents. When a party publishes its manifesto, we send the parts that affect you in the party’s own words. Before a general election, you get every party’s manifesto side by side on your subjects, with questions to ask candidates. Every party is treated the same, and we never rate them.

Briefed £99 / month

Ask anything about government and get an answer with its source. See who decides, what your competitors win and who they meet. We alert you when something new affects you, as often as you choose.
- What government is doing Announcements, new guidance, regulatory updates, contracts, consultations, policy papers and more.
- Whether it worked Impact assessments, Regulatory Policy Committee opinions, post-implementation reviews, Scottish and Welsh audit reports, committee reports and case law.
- Who Matters A map of the ministers, officials and bodies behind your issues, updated each week. Open anyone on it to see your history with them, and when someone has gone quiet, your To do list suggests writing again.
- Who you already know Add your LinkedIn connections and each body on a map says how many people you know there, and who to ask for an introduction. Your investors and advisers can add theirs too, if they choose.
- A yearly report for your board Your Library keeps every letter, meeting, response and FOI request by the body it went to, and makes a Word report of the year in one press.
- Laws in progress Every bill going through Parliament, with its stage and what happens next. Follow a bill and we alert you each time it moves, with its next sittings in your calendar. See laws in progress →
- Coming up in Parliament The hearings, bill stages, debates and question times in the next fortnight that affect your company, on your Home screen and in your weekly email.
- New rules: start dates The dates new legal duties start for a company like yours, and what to do before each one. On every plan. On Briefed they go in your calendar and move if a date changes. See when new rules start →
- Who already buys Which public bodies already pay firms like yours, from every central government payment over £25,000, and which of their contracts end in the next 6 to 18 months. See who already buys →
- All-party groups Every all-party parliamentary group, who runs it and who funds it. See the all-party groups →
- Your MPs Found from your registered office, with up to three more sites. Their committees, their all-party group roles on your subjects, and the questions they ask in Parliament about them, watched every weekday. On every plan.
- Your competitors Name up to five rivals or peers, or add the ones we suggest, and see when one of them meets a minister, wins a public contract or grant, gives evidence to Parliament, or runs or funds an all-party group. A chart shows how often you and each rival appear, quarter by quarter, and we tell you when a rival gives evidence to the same inquiry as you.
- Which licences you need Describe your company and see the UK licences, registrations and regulator sandboxes that may apply. Try the permission finder →
- Government data you can use Describe your company and see five or six open government datasets you could build on or use for market research. Find data you can use →
- Funding and support you could get The government-backed loans, equity, grants and advice schemes that fit your company’s stage, size, industry and region, from GOV.UK’s business support finder. On every plan. Press Should we apply? for a quick check of size, age, place and the rest against your company. See funding and support →
- Freedom of Information requests Say what you want to know in your own words. Seam checks whether it has been asked before, writes the request, finds who to send it to, counts the 20 working days and drafts the chase. With Outlook connected it notices when you send it and when the answer comes. On Briefed and Engaged. Ask government →
Ask searches every source we hold, from Whitehall, Parliament, the devolved governments and regulators.
03 · Engagement
Engagement
Engaged £249 / month
Includes everything above
When something affects you, Seam drafts your reply in your company’s voice and tracks the deadline. Nothing goes out until you approve it.
- Consultation responses and committee evidence Seam spots the consultation or inquiry that affects you, drafts your response from what you have already published, and links every point to the document it answers.
- What happened next When the government publishes its response to a consultation you answered, we show what it did with each of your points, in its own words. When a committee publishes your evidence, we tell you, with a note for your investors.
- Letters to ministers, officials and MPs A short letter to the right person at the right moment, such as the week a rule that affects you is announced.
- Introduce yourself before the tender When a buyer plans a contract that fits you, Seam offers a short letter to their commercial team asking to join the market engagement. It is drafted only when you ask.
- Forward anything Forward a regulator’s letter, an invitation to respond to a consultation, or an investor’s question about regulation to Seam. The reply picks out the dates and what is asked, and offers a draft reply or response already filled in. It is drafted only when you press. We do not write tender bids.
- Invite your MP to visit Once a quarter Seam suggests an invitation to your own MP, with the letter filled in. It is drafted only when you ask.
- Every deadline in one place Closing dates go on one tracker and into your calendar, with a reminder before each.
- Nothing sent without you Every draft waits for your approval. Ask a colleague at your company to check it first if you like: they can comment and approve, but only you can send it.
